Celebrating Black Achievement at GRID

To close out Black History Month, GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles hosted Black Solar Innovators, a community celebration at Slauson Recreation Center honoring Black leadership in renewable energy. The event featured free food, music, kids’ activities, and a powerful panel of Black sustainability professionals, alongside over a dozen local partners offering resources like solar sign-ups and job training.
Meet Brittney, a 2022-23 SolarCorps Construction Fellow, a graduate of our Installation Basics Training (IBT) program, and a current resident of Mirasol Village, where GRID Alternatives North Valley just installed a 137.9 kW solar photovoltaic system! We sat down with her to talk about her time in IBT, her transition into SolarCorps, and her experience living at Mirasol Village.
